This is a story about two English businessmen who took a chance, a big chance, they bought a run down French Watermill at a knockdown price before it became fashionable.

There was no plan on what to do with it, no idea if they would ever have the time, but something drove them to make the whirlwind purchase, there followed 7 years of absence before the opportunity rose to renovate. So what was it that made two guys travel to South West France on a 24 hour road trip to view and then make an offer there and then on a 16th C run down stone watermill?

Quite simply – they breathed it in!!

From the first minute they arrived early on a Summers morning there was a precious 20 minute period of solace, the proprieter was on his way but those moments were priceless and quite simply they took a deep breath and drew it all in, the Buzzards, tranquility, atmosphere, the sound of running water, the sheer sense of history, deer, wild flowers, surely if ever an Englishman was to drive his stake into French soil it was to be here…..
